Default 26.10.05 Deportivo-Real Madrid (Pre-match comments)

The following news from the official site is VERY IMPORTANT for anybody going to this game.

http://www.canaldeportivo.com/servle...10381 &mid=12

As Spain have not qualified for the World Cup. The Play Offs have been drawn today and the 1st leg is due to be played on Saturday 12th November. I believe the Spanish Federation and the Sports Minister have put a proposal to La Liga (www.lfp.es) to move Jornada 11 matches (midweek) forward to 26th October to give the national side more time to prepare for the Play Offs. There is currently a meeting at La Liga offices at this present time

If you are like me and booked your flights (Nov 9th) you may have to alter your travel plans.

Edited: It looks like a decison has been put off until Monday 17th October (10.30 CET)

It will be played on 26th October but a LFP committee must ratify the LFP and FEF agreement.

[sarcasm]It's great isn't it!!!!!!!![/sarcasm]

That weekend was put aside as an the first International week after the World Cup Qualifying games and it was pretty obvious to anyone with a half a brain cell that this would be when one of the play offs would be played.

Why is it then, that the Spanish Football Federation suddenly decide that the midweek games are suddenly too close.

I can only assume that they were far too arrogant in presuming that they would qualify automatically and wouldn't need the playoffs.

Great Organisation!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to make things worse, they're moving the game forward to the 26th Oct. Not only does this mean that there's less likelihood of successfully finding flights and maybe accomodation BUT they've also chosen the week when the kids are off from school in the UK which means prices are waaaaaay higher for travelling and it's even harder for me to get away.

RANT OVER

I really don't know.

The LFP web page also informs on TV coverage but it only goes a week ahead. You can also see that kind of info on:

http://www.futbolenlatele.com/primeraindex.htm

As soon as I hear something about it, I will post it here

we should thank the gods if Ronaldo is still out when we meet them. He has scored 7 goals! thats almost as much as depor this season! Though they have quite good players upfront anyway (robinho, raul, maybe baptista)... Its gonna get real tough guys! :|
