Red face Russia: League & Cup

Russian football... I'm afraid no one of you knows much about it. Some time ago Russian football was retarded and absolutely not interesting. But during last years big money come to our clubs, they compete with top European clubs for top players. Now Russian football fans are not surprised much when CSKA Moscow crashes PSG 3-0 or Lokomotiv Moscow scores 5 against Anderlecht.

So I created this topic to discuss anything related to Russian football.

Now we have an off-season so all main news are connected to transfers.

Top events of last weeks are Dinamo and CSKA transfers.

Dinamo bought some quality Portuguese players. We have separate thread about it.

CSKA sold Jiri Jarosik to Chelsea for about 10 million EUR. It's a significant event for our football. First time in the history a player moves from Russia to top European club.

CSKA probably will sell Sergei Semak to PSG. PSG wants him much but the main question is money.

CSKA's Vagner Love announced that he wants to play for Corinthians. He doesn't want to live in Russia. The player wants to be closer to his national team coaches, Russian winter is too cold for his little son, etc. But Corinthians didn't make any offers to Vagner Love's current team.

As I understand Vagner Love is MSI player. And he is almost certain to form Corinthians attack with Tevez.
I read in croatian press that CSKA is interested in bringing Niko Kranjcar (Dinamo Zagreb) who is considered as one of our brightest talents.
And a question for you AP, or any other russian here: How is Olic playing in CSKA?

Corinthians have also bought Carlos Alberto from Porto. I wonder why they sold a very young (-85?) and very talented versatily attacking midfielder.

Whenever I have seen Jarosik I have been impressed because he likes to comand the midfield and is good defensively but especially going forward where he likes to create and score goals.

No Russians here except me...
Olic is good! After he had been bought he immediately became a regular starter and his performance causes very good comments in press.

Akinfeev is the 1st goalie of CSKA Moscow. He is really great. Now he is one of 3 top Russian keepers together with Ovchinnikov (old and lacking self-control) and Malafeev (very good keeper).

I believe he'll play not very often (like Smertin does). Not a regular starter but smth. like that.

He is the great man! Hercules!
That time was not such bad. At least Spartak Moscow had great results in Euro cups. For example, 6 wins in CL group stage or crushin Ajax in UEFA Cup.

Abramovich sponsers CSKA doesn't he? So the only reason CSKA had enough money for Vagner Love and Carlos Alberto is beause of Abramovich?

And Abrmaovich also owns 15% of MSI who own Corinthians. MSI plan to make Corinthians los galacticos of South America!

I wouldn't compare Jarosik to Vieira but he is really good. In star Chelsea he won't be a starter but he's perfect for subs. Jarosik is central midfield. He can play as attacking, defending midfield or in the center of the pitch.

Yes he does. Abramovich is the owner of Sibneft oil corporation. Sibneft is main sponsor of CSKA.

Carlos Alberto is not CSKA player.

Today Yegor Titov's one year disqualification comes to an end. He'll play for Spartak Moscow as he did before. All this year he worked with his team so he must be in satisfactory form now.

===

Transfer news.

Sergey Semak moved from CSKA Moscow to PSG for 2.9 million EUR.
Semak is the most devoted to the club player. He played in CSKA in good and very bad years. So I'm sure all CSKA fans wish him good luck in new club.

Of course I do! He had a choice to play for Azerbaijan or for Russia. Sorry for you but he chose Russia. I hope he'll show progressing performances this season!

He plays for Russian champion Lokomotiv Moscow. Dmitry is the best Loko forward and he is doing very well. I hope you'll see him this Autumn in Champions League matches!
