![]() Well Miles, Cercle is officially in the relegation play-off after losing the Bruges derby tonight.
The only way they can avoid last place and get the advantage in the relegation play-off, is if they beat Bergen next week while Beerschot loses at Waasland, and if they then go on to beat Beerschot on the last matchday. That seems unlikely though, so Cercle will have to start the relegation play-off with 0 points, Beerschot with 3. They then play each other 5 times in a row. Actually, they'll play each other 6 times in a row, if you count the last matchday of the regular league. And even if they survive that, then they still need to win the play-offs with three second division teams. Anyway, it's still not certain Beerschot will be their rival though. Lierse is also a possibility. In fact, Lierse is much weaker on paper than Beerschot, so it could actually be in Cercle's interests to lose the final matchday against Beerschot, in order to get Lierse as opponent instead. Beerschot is having a horrible off-season, while they should have plenty of quality to finish in the top half. I'm afraid those "qualities" will shine through if they're forced to fight against relegation. |

![]() Anyway, Club Brugge once again showed what a small team it is. Awful game by them, very lucky to be winning 0-1. Then in injury time Eidur Gudjohnson, the man who Club "stole" from Cercle two months ago, scores the second. Gudjohnson immediately makes clear he does NOT want to celebrate against his ex-club, yet the other players start jumping on him and hugging him as if he scored the goal that won them the Champions League. One minute later, they somehow even score 0-3, and once again celebrate like crazy, with Gudjohnson even walking away from his teammates with an angry look on his face. Then after the game, Club Brugge's captain decided to plant their club flag in the middle of the pitch (Cercle and Club share the same stadium), but was almost kicked off the pitch by Cercle's officials. Unbelievable. To celebrate the demise of their "little brother" like that is already pretty sad. And the fact that they played an absolutely dreadful and lazy game, makes this even more unbelievable. These idiots should be ashamed of themselves. I hate Anderlecht because of their, to put it simply, match-fixing. They can do anything they want, and never get punished. Club Brugge on the other hand, I hate because I have no sympathy whatsoever for their players and their fans. Both are sickeningly annoying and have no standards whatsoever. Genk and Standard though, I like ![]() Last edited by deporiginal : 28-02-2013 at 22:34. |

![]() Yes, somehow Cercle signed him this summer. After losing some weight, he was becoming vital for Cercle and it seemed like he would save Cercle from the drop all on his own. Then Club inexplicably swooped in this winter, and convinced him to move by splashing some cash. All that money while they didn't even need another striker. He's pretty much been exclusively on the bench. Yesterday was only his second goal for Club. Club pretty much condemned Cercle to relegation when they did that. Spending loads of money on yet another player they don't need. One of the most bizarre transfers in Belgian history for sure. Seems like they only did it to screw over Cercle.
The commentator did have a nice comment yesterday though. "Hij heeft voor Chelsea en Barcelona gespeeld, hij won de Champions League, de Premier League en La Liga... En nu wordt hij uitgefloten door de Cercle-aanhang. Het kan verkeren" ![]() |

![]() Anderlecht was eliminated in the semi-finals of the Belgian cup on penalties just now. Surprise surprise
![]() Awesome penalty series though. All 20 players left on the field had to take a penalty. In the end Anderlecht's keeper missed the last one, after which Genk's keeper scored and won it for Genk. Crazy though. Genk 3 times under pressure for HAVING to score it, and every time they did. The ninth penalty (out of 10), was insane. Proto seemed to save it for Anderlecht with his left hand, but he then sort of fell on top of the ball and it ended up rolling in anyway. Genk had the chance to seal the win three times, but twice Proto saved the ball. He was chanceless at the last attempt though ![]() It was no surprise that Anderlecht knocked three of their 10 penalties out of the stadium, once again ![]() Last edited by deporiginal : 02-03-2013 at 21:00. |

![]() Chaos in the Macedonian league...
Today was the first matchday of this half season, but only 3 matches will be played (actually one was played yesterday and two will be played today). What about the other three matches? First the match Bregalnica-Napredok can't be played cause the pitych of Bregalnica become a pool because of the big rains in the last days. Look at it lol ![]() And here is the stadium of Turnovo. ![]() The second match was postponed cause Shkendija is on the way to be removed in the lowest league. They have new resident. He wanted to find a way to deal with their debts, and he find it ![]() He deleted the club from the central register and formed another club with the same name. He didn't know that that can't be the same club anymore, and they should start from the lowest division. But you know, they are minority so the federation do everything to help them and solve this problem. Actually next week we play against him in Skopje. The situation in Skopje this days isn't very good, I think you've all know what was happening the last few days with the ethnic incidents. Federation do everything so they can put the match earlier when people are on work so less peopole to be on the stadiums. Away fans aren't allowed to come anyway. So they've decide to make some corections of our stadium so we can play in some stadium with less capacity (not that we have big choice the other stadiums in Skopje have maximum 2500 capacity). And today 20 hours before the match the big derby, we all waitted since last year between Pelister and Vardar was postponed due to the situation in the capital city. There weren't enough police, special forces to be in two cities in the same time. The anger between the fans is biger. First the host Pelister will have less money from tickets cause the match will be played in wednesday at working time. Second we were giving everything to get permission to go on thse away match. There were many meetings with the federation, clubs, police, and finally they gave us permissin to travel in Bitola. Then they were sugesting to the railway station and on the bus travel ogranisations to reject our calls. Finally we found 12 busses for this away match, and then DONG!!! |

![]() Hey Marko, how are the swimming pools these days?
![]() Just wondering - do they show Macedonian liga games on tv there? It seems like an awful lot of stress (for the supporters) to go to an away match. If it was on tv, would you still go? |
