Everything must sit well and fit, to get the best results as possible. Look at cycling where the very smallest of details influence the chances of winning a Grand Tour. The socks, the famous millisecond gains, and so on. This counts for football as well as for other sports also.
Where am I getting to? Well: which idiot makes us wear pajamas on the field and expect us to run like superhero's? Really, I think this very wrong choice of dress lowers our output by at least 5% by default. We have our stripes fell over, just like our players. You can see this happening even at barca: they play with a totally wrong shirt and get beaten way more often than they should. Not just this year, but each year when they come up with some extremely painful-to-the-eye set of dresses.
