Yeah I understand what you're saying and I think ethically and morally, it would have been a fair decision. Unfortunately though, my opinion when it comes to the honesty and integrity of modern day footballers, is not very high. I can imagine an incident after such a precedent was set, where a goalkeeper brings down an attacker in the final moments of a game and then fakes an injury after the physical clash between them. (in an attempt to avoid facing the free kick/penalty and have the ref blow up)

At the end of the day, where do you draw the line? Unless you have a rule written down which is clear to everyone, you're always going to have claims of bias as one team benefits and another doesn't with the lack of consistancy. And the ref imo is there to be totally neutral and not favour either team or any player at any point. Which brings the emphasis of responsibility back to the coach.

It wouldn't be necessary to make so noise about this!
Just whistle the end, it's not basketball, many times the refs whistle the end 1-2 minutes earlier or later than what the sign presented.
I've seen many cases that the ref whistled 1-2min earlier after a hard tackle or sth, that brought a fight to the field.
I don't think players start to think, "ok let's start a fight to finish the game"

I think starting a fight and feigning an injury are a little different ggeorg. To guarantee a fight, you'd probably have to risk being sent off and a subsequent ban wheras at most, you'd get a yellow for simulation.

I just think that it's too easy to point the finger at the ref or dump even more responsibility on him rather than someone else. Using that Roma game as an example, they were chasing the game 2-1 and for whatever reason, the coach and the player decided that the pain of the injury and the risk of further damage was worth the gamble of snatching a draw in the remaining minutes. So imagine if the ref blew up after 1 minute of the 3-4 that had been signalled. Guess who becomes the bad guy for trying to help someone out.
If the manager and the player want to gamble and take the risk, why should the referee interfere in an issue that is only likely to see referees even more castigated.

Del Piero equalled Boniperti's goal record (178) for Juve.

Have not seen it, but Brazilians, especially Dinho went on crazy for Milan. Ibra with a nice own goal.

Have seen the end moments of Roma-Genoa, the Totti-brigade went out of power for the final minutes...

Lazio leader with an away victory 2-0 at Bari with the goals of Sergio Floccari and A. Hernanes. These can be called reinforcing signings!!

Pastore and Ilicic continue scoring, another win for Palermo.

Second stright win for Udinese. Of course, they have the players to turn around the situation...

Mihajlovic's Fiorentina is last place!!

Lazio continued their run with a win this time over Cagliari 2-1. The goals were scored by Sergio Floccari and Stefano Mauri. They remain leader of Serie A.

Inter lost two points at home with a draw 1-1 against Cassano's Sampdoria.

Antonio Di Natale leaded Udinese to their Third straight victory, this time versus Palermo. They were 0 points at matchday 4, now, they have 10 points.

Viola left the last places with a win against Bari 2-1.

Bologna played a 0-0 against Juventus.

DepHun, where's your report?

I gave the chance to you, DJ.

I hate the tabella, and mainly the leader of it.

I have seen Parma-Roma. OH my god, that was awful. Parma has better forwards (Bojinov, Crespo, Giovinco) than Depor, but still impotento...

I have seen moments of Inter-Sampdoria, Inter seemed quite lost.

Today it is gonna be a Napoli-Milan, when we play at San Sebastian. Very hard decision to change...

My part, I saw the leader you hate against Cagliari. With their financial troubles, they still have a great potential with €13m Hernanes, €10m Floccari, Mauro Zarate, Ledesma, Tomaso Rocchi, Pasquale Foggia. Really a great squad to have
