World Football For other football that's not related to Depor. For example: the Primera División, Segunda División A, Segunda División B, the Champions League, EURO 2008, the World Cup 2010, Italy, England, Germany, Turkey etc. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MiW11xu6Og Great goal anyway. I was writing many times in this thread about how bad we were in the past. Finally we managed to complete a first squad with few good players. I'm glad that Pandev scored the winning goal and will have his debut on the continental championships at age of 38. Elif Elmas is a player of Napoli with a great perspective (the next Goran Pandev), Bardhi is first squad player of Levante, Ademi is captain of Dinamo Zagreb, Stefan Ristovski was part of the first squad of Sporting Lisabon, but he had some issues with the coach. Nestorovski is the Macedonian Giroud ![]() Our youth squad also has some interesting players, we finished second in the qualification group after playing on the youth EC 2017. The group with Austria, Ukraine and Netherland can be interesting group for us, to make some surprises. |

![]() so what about that Super League? Can they put Depor in it?
![]() UEFA and FIFA should do what they threatened and immediately throw those clubs and players out of the system. It's not that they can have a monopoly, but this idea stinks and is the end of the CL (at least) and the 'few' great games we can watch each year. Who could ever think that always watching the same 12 or so teams in a league would be exiting? Most people can hardly bear the CL qualification rounds with 4 teams playing each other twice, as the outcome is anyway clear before the first minute has been played. That must be an idea from the US, is it not? I guess they will also play 20-minute parts to allow loads of advertisements, and playtime being counted by a stopwatch like in ice-hockey or basket. |

I think this would be the end of much more. It won't be the end of La Liga, but it won't be the same as well. Depor won la liga on 2000, or Leicester won the EPL, would it be the same if Sevilla win la liga without Barca-Madrid, or West Ham winning EPL without those 6? Obviously not. Will it be the same for the next Eibar, that will have a chance to play in La Liga but not having Barca and Madrid visiting their tiny stadium? This will deteriorate much of the football pyramid in whole Europe. It's sad/funny, that everyone is against it, still, it doesnt matter for those with the power. To hell with tradition, history, fans and eerything, we will create new customers. |

![]() what about Perez's comments yesterday? It was interesting to hear that "young people don't follow football anymore".
I can't comment on that since I have no feeling with that age-group, but could it perhaps be real that much less young people are into football as was in our (old people's) generation(s)? |

I'm also sharing this feeling that the young generation isn't that interested in football. Perez said as well that youngsters are bored watching a game of 90min, fair play, make it 20min, whatever. Why don't they just create their own sport/spectacle, as they dream of it, and leave football to die in a peaceful way, not killing it like this? |

![]() It's a disgrace what especially Perez and Agnelli wanted to achive. Perez has had this fixed idea for years, so at least we can not be surprised with him.
But Agnelli spoke with Ceferin on Saturday and confirmed that Juve and the whole ECA supports the new reformed CL format for the 2024 season. The next thing he did, he turned off his phone and signed the Superlegue contract. Ceferin called him a snake, and the whole group "Dirty Dozen". Agnelli was a close friend with Ceferin, Ceferin was also the godfather of his daughter. I remember my starts as a Depor fan, to admire a club that could sportingly fight with Real and the emerging Galacticos. I had the same feeling then, Perez was ruining football at that point and he (almost) succeded in long term. The CL was reformed so many times to make the bigger teams play along - I don't know if we can call it Champions league, if teams from 4th positions or even lower are playing in it? Then they didn't want to play qualifications, and were granted positions with just home league positions. Now in the new format even more Top5 league teams will join the CL without qualification and more games are gonna be played, so again more revenue. They will also get wildcards for previous merits, so again a change for the big teams. Not enough, they needed a closed league and regular gigantic income, without any sense of what football is - and no it is not a normal bussiness. Yes, this is the time when especially the giants struggle with balances, they have expenses as before corona crisis and lower revenue. (Also for other teams, but the gap is the biggest with the big ones). The big ones where the greediest in good times, and they managed to get more and more income on the shoulders of others, so they could cover their unreal expenses. But there has to be a limit. Now they must focus on expenses and cut them, but in doing so, they will offer a chance to other clubs - and this is exactly what football is suppose to be. I hope the direction is altered, it will not be changed completely - money still talks - a lot more then it should. Football is not economy.
