Default Luis Suárez Miramontes

Our legendary player, the only Spanish golden-ball winner, not to mix-up with these days Uruguayan super-star of Pool.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Su...rez_Miramontes

This is an almost must read for Xosé and Kevin:
As an Inter-official, Luis Suarez (Miramontes) was invited to Budapest, and was interviewed by a Spanish speaking reporter.

Well, Luis Suarez has been living in Milano for the last 50 years (which was a crazy fact for me), so he was asked, whether he feels himself as Spanish, or Italiano. Well, the answer, that I liked very much, arrived: Luis Suarez said, he lived in Barca, he has been living in Milano for dedaces, but he was born in A Coruna, so he is and always gonna be a Gallego.
He spoke about the enthusiasm of Coruna boys of his age, to become a Depor player, that there were no money in football, so everybody wanted to play in his birhtplace-club, nohting more, that they played on roads after school, as there were no cars (!!!) in the city, that he went as a small kid to his older brothers' trainings, and a coach saw him as a skillful boy, and let him play among older guys. He is a true Deportivista.

Thanks Kalman! Nice words by Luis!

Btw, there are not many videos of Luis Suárez, unfortunately. I found this nice documentary about him, an interview with Luis remembering his career. (In Italian)

Memories: Luis Suárez - Parte 1 (29:42): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWW61WKMUk0
Memories: Luis Suárez - Parte 2 (29:23): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAjR9-mbpCw

About the 1960 golden-ball ceremony Luis Suarez said, that a Barca official told him before a Barca Liga game, that someone arrived from France, and wanted to give him a prize. LS searched the person, who gave over the golden ball prize, they shook hands, and Luis Suarez was prompt focused on his next game.

I read somewhere that there might be three parts to that documentary?

I have also read in a book that he was very superstitious. At every pre-match meal, someone would have to spill some red wine over the table because it happened once before a big game and Suarez thought it was a good omen!
